LONDON (CBS Atlanta) – The results of Great Britain’s largest study of cell phone use and health are in…and good news.
There are no major health risks from prolonged exposure to mobile phone technology.
The report from Britain’s Mobile Telecommunications and Health Research Programme finds no link between cell phone tower emissions and early childhood cancer.
There’s also no evidence that cell phone use contributes to the development of leukemia, finds the study.
But the group’s chairman warns this may not be the final word, saying “(t)o be sure that there are no delayed adverse effects, which only become apparent after many years, the program provided funding to set up an epidemiological investigation (the COSMOS study) which will follow-up a large population of mobile phone users long-term. ”
